The Mills name comes from exactly where you'd expect - it was given to people who worked in, or lived very near, mills, and can be traced back at least as far as the 11th century. Our own Mills history can be traced back to late 18th century England.
Henry Mills 1785 - Unknown
Very little is know about Henry; he was born about 1785 in England, and is listed on the census as a sawyer. Around 1829, he married Sarah Baglin, and they raised 8 children in Gloucestershire, England. It is not known exactly when he passed away, but we can assume it was between 1851 and 1861, as he appears with his family on the former, but not on the latter, and he does not turn up on his own.
Henry and Sarah's children:
Daniel Mills, b. 1833
Anthony Mills, b. 1836
